Calgary police continue to investigate a fatal collision from last week that involved two Calgary Transit buses along with several other vehicles, and they are now focused on tracking down passengers who may not yet have given statements.
According to police, evidence suggests that a number of people riding the buses left before officers could speak with them, and investigators are urging anyone in that situation to come forward.
Staff Sgt. Andy Woodward, who leads the CPS Traffic Section, said reaching every person with potentially useful information is critical to advancing the case, noting that many passengers appear to have departed unaware that their accounts were wanted.
Police have not released further details because the investigation is still underway.
Anyone who was a passenger on either bus is asked to call the Traffic Section directly at 403-428-4000, or use the non-emergency line at 403-266-1234. General tips about the crash can go to the same non-emergency number, or be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477, visiting www.calgarycrimestoppers.org, or using the P3 Tips app.
Calgary police also noted that anyone who witnessed the collision and has been affected by it can reach out to the Victim Assistance Support Team, a no-cost resource for crime and tragedy victims, at 403-428-8398 or 1-888-327-7828 toll-free.
The file is listed under case number CA26474612/5336.
